Heartburn And Dyspepsia Relief.
Ingredients in Gastro Aid have been shown or traditionally used:
- For treatment of indigestion, heartburn and reflux and to soothe mucous membranes.
- To relieve symptoms of non-specific dyspepsia.
- To aid digestion and support gastric motility and bile production.
Clinical Benefits:
- Multiple clinical trials have shown ingredients in Gastro Aid to be effective in the treatment of upper gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion and reflux: GutGard® liquorice has been shown to significantly improve symptoms of non-specific dyspepsia. A randomised, double-blind, placebo controlled study on 50 subjects with non-specific dyspepsia showed that, compared to placebo, patients experienced an average of 66% improvement in their Nepean index scores after taking 75 mg of GutGard® twice daily for 30 days. Another multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo controlled study on 106 subjects with non-specific dyspepsia showed 86% of participants experienced improvements in their symptoms after taking 500 mg of turmeric twice a day for seven days. Typical symptoms of non-specific dyspepsia include upper abdominal pain, indigestion, belching, bloating, acid regurgitation (reflux) and heartburn.
- Demulcent activity to soothe mucus membranes: Liquorice has been traditionally used for its demulcent activity in Western herbal medicine. Liquorice may help to heal damaged gut mucosa by increasing local concentrations of prostaglandins that promote mucus production and cell proliferation in the stomach.
- Aid digestive function: Multiple ingredients in Gastro Aid support digestion, including improving gastric motility and bile production. Turmeric has been shown in in vitro and in vivo trials, to suppress gastric acid production and reduce gastric acid-induced damage via the inhibition of histamine 2 receptors.
