Ultra Inflamase is the proteolytic formula in the Lifestyle Enzymes range, distinct from the digestive formulas in both purpose and dosing. It combines a high total protease activity across two pH-optimised fractions with bromelains and lipase. It is taken away from food so the proteolytic enzymes are available for systemic activity. Its primary role is the relief of symptoms of soft tissue trauma, muscle injury and inflammation.

How it works:

Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme complex from pineapple. Reviews of its pharmacology describe antioedematous, fibrinolytic and anti-inflammatory activity, and note that it is absorbed with proteolytic activity retained. Taken away from food, the protease fractions (4.5, 6.0) and bromelains are available for systemic proteolytic activity consistent with the approved indications; taken with food, the proteases and lipase assist the breakdown and digestion of proteins and fat. Oral proteolytic enzyme combinations have been studied for inflammatory and joint symptoms, with one combination non-inferior to an anti-inflammatory comparator over six weeks.
